Audrey J. (Piche) Mordavsky RT, of Manchester, formerly of Willimantic, wife of the late David M. Mordavsky, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at home. A resident of Manchester since 1963, daughter of the late Leo W. and Nelle V. (Phillips) Piche.
She was educated in the Windham Public School System, graduating from Windham High School in 1952. She was the first graduate of the Manchester Memorial Hospital School of Radiology in 1958 and worked for Manchester Radiologists for a number of years. She was a certified technician with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) She also worked at L.M. Gill Welding and Manufacturing Co. for several years.
Audrey is survived by her sisters-in-law Gail of South Windsor and Donna (Mordavsky) Johnson and husband David of Enfield and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brother-in-law, the late Dr. Donald F. Mordavsky. Audrey was an avid trout and salmon fisherwoman along with her husband David, she was co-owner and partner of ATTELAGE PICHE and helped build a well sponsored fishing machine including the latest in innovative fishing technology. Twice having fished New Zealand, Australia and Tasmania for a month. She and David also spent considerable time fishing Ireland and Scotland. Together they also imported fishing lures from Tasmania known as “Konnecticut Kobras”. Their moniker was TEAM FISH’N which they enjoyed as the license plate of their tow vehicle.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, June 19th at 10 AM directly at the St. Bridget Church 80 Main Street, Manchester, CT. Burial will take place at a later date. The Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home of Manchester has been entrusted with care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the 8th District Fire Department Social Fund, 118 Main Street , Manchester, CT 06040 or to the Daughters of the Holy Spirit Provincial House, 72 Church St. Putnam, CT 06260.
