Arthur G. Young

Arthur G. Young, 91 of Worcester, MA, formerly of Manchester, CT, husband of the late Emma (Lengyel) Young, died Monday, April 11, 2016 at his home.
Arthur was born in Manchester on May 21, 1924, son of Thomas J. and Mary Jane (McCann) Young, and resided in Manchester before moving to Worcester in 2013. He was a combat veteran of World War II, serving with the Army in 302nd Infantry Regiment at the Normandy beachhead. He retired from the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company in 1982 with over thirty years of service. He then worked with his brother Fred at Eastern Roofing Corporation for ten years. While living in Manchester Arthur was a faithful member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Colleen M. Kushlis and her husband Robert of Worcester, MA, his brother Frederick Young and his wife Audrey of Manchester, and three nephews and a niece, Thomas Young, his wife Mary, and their family; Mark Young, his wife Linda, and their family; David Young and Barbara Young. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his brother Robert Young and his wife Esther, and a niece, Lisa Young.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 15, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 41 Park Street, Manchester with burial to follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester. Visiting hours are Thursday, April 14, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester.
