Arthur F. Laverty

Arthur Ford Laverty, 77, of Storrs, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, died peacefully on Thursday July 5th, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born on April 19, 1941 in Mt. Arnett, West Virginia, son of the late Preston and Martha Lafferty. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a foreman for the Graphic Center Printing Co. Art is survived by his six daughters, Becky Savage of Thomasville, N.C., Tina Laverty of East Hartford, CT., Tammy Fitch of Hebron, CT., Karen Young of East Winsor, CT., Donna DiMaio of Vernon, CT., and Annette Ritter of East Hartford, CT., 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers William Lafferty, Jackie Ray Lafferty, and his sisters Mabel Bell, Marie Cozart, Midget McMillan, and Pam Davidson, all from West Virginia, numerous nieces, nephews and their families and his dear friend Joyce Jetter of Storrs, CT. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester on Monday July 23, 2018 from 10:00- 11:30 am with a service to begin at 11:30 am.
