Anthony E. Salvatore, 74 of Storrs, formerly of Manchester, died Monday, August 8, 2016 at Windham Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Tony was born in Bar Harbor, ME on August 11, 1943, son of the late Antonio and Barbara (Brann) Salvatore. He was raised in Manchester and lived in the Hartford area most of his life before moving to Storrs three years ago. He served in the US Marine Corps and prior to retiring he was an executive chef at various restaurants in the Hartford area. Tony was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go hunting, fishing, and hiking.
He is survived by six children, Anthony E. Salvatore Jr. of Ashford, Shelly Salvatore of Vernon, Michael Salvatore in Maine , Jessica Sassu of Middletown, Heather Joy Rosario of East Hartford, and James Salvatore of Manchester; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Salvatore in Connecticut and Joseph Salvatore of Manchester; two sisters, Antonia Henry in Texas and Suzanne Salvatore of Manchester, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Christine Smiley, and a brother, Michael Salvatore.
