Annette (Drouin) Hoch, 84, of Manchester passed away peacefully Friday, May 10th , 2024. Annette was born in Hartford on August 30th, 1939, daughter of the late Leopold and Cecile (Vigue) Drouin. She shared many stories of being raised in Bolton along with her siblings Rosette, David, Diane, and Leo. At a young age, Annette met the love of her life, William (Bill) Hoch. They married and created a beautiful family together, which she often stated was all she ever dreamt of. Together they worked at Shady Glen, eventually running and owning the iconic institution for several decades. True to her character, Annette preferred not to garner attention, but enjoyed seeing her husband and family receive the recognition for the restaurants many accolades. Theirs was a true partnership. Annette was a longtime parishioner of Saint Bartholomew Church in Manchester. Steadfast in her faith, it was important to her to raise her children with a strong Catholic foundation, sending them to parochial schools. Annette raised three devoted children, Billy Hoch (Amy), Gregory Hoch (Cindy), and Arlette Cassidy (Ray). They each continue her loving legacy through her grandchildren Victoria, Alexandra, Samantha, Ealish and Taj, and great-grandchildren, Flora and George. Her greatest joy was hearing about all the accomplishments each has made. Honoring her wishes, there will be a small private funeral and burial for immediate family. Memorial gifts may be made to the Gengras Center, a school for children with special needs, to which she felt a special connection. The Gengras Center, 1678 Asylum Ave, West Hartford, CT 06117.
