Anna Steele

Anna (Saliga) Steele, 94, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Frank J. Steele, died Thursday March 3, 2016 at an area convalescent home. Anna was born May 27, 1921 in Exeter, PA. daughter of the late George & Susan (Mehal) Saliga and has been a resident of East Hartford for almost 70 years. She was a communicant of the Blessed Sacrament Church in East Hartford, she loved the Red Sox, going to Cape Cod and was a fan of the UConn men's and woman's basketball teams. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Richard & Christine Steele of Manchester, Gregory & Dorothy Steele of South Windsor, two grandchildren Alex and Christopher and two step-grandchildren Daniel & Jeana and a step great granddaughter Mia. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff on 4-CD at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held Monday March 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 15 Millbrook Dr., East Hartford. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in East Hartford. Calling hours will be held Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to the Riverside Heath & Rehabilitation Recreation Dept.
