Ann Madsen

Ann (Barry) Madsen, 81, of Manchester, wife of Edward A. Madsen, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at her home. Ann was born in Hartford on September 17, 1936, daughter to the late Edward and Edna (Danialson) Barry.
Ann attended schools in East Windsor and was a graduate of East Windsor High School. She was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where she was involved in training their leaders. Throughout her life, Ann enjoyed many forms of art, but most specifically, she was a talented and gifted stained-glass artist. She was the owner and operator of Plum Gully Stained-Glass in Manchester for over 45 years. Her artwork can be seen and enjoyed by all at many businesses and facilities in town including St. Bartholomew Church, St. Bridget Church and other locations in the Manchester and Hartford areas. Family was important to Ann. She cherished the times spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. Ann was a communicant of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, formerly St. Bridget Church.
In addition to her husband Edward, she is survived by her three children Glen, Craig and Christine and their families as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves a brother John Barry and two sisters, Thelma Pease and Betty Wheelock. Ann was predeceased by her two parents, her brother Edward Barry and her sister Eileen Brown.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery, Burnside Ave., East Hartford. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations in Ann's name may be made to St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish/St. Bridget Church, 80 Main Street, Manchester, CT 06042.
