Andrea Lenore Borrelli

October 19, 1945 — November 16, 2024

Andrea Korisky Borrelli, Mrs. B, Ma
Andrea. an angel sent to us so we could learn about how to be good people, went home today November 16th, 2024 Everything wonderful you could say about being a daughter, she wasA friend to her friends showering and sharing with them unlimited and unconditional loveShe cared for everybody within her sight, to know her was to become familyShe was a jewel, beautiful,l intelligent, loving, caring, empatheticA loving devoted wife, way above my pay grade, saving me many timesFor Laird and M.Carter there was no Step in Stepmom, she was just MomAs far as her being Nonna, Julia, Nico and Axel won the lotteryNo better model of love, caring and virtuosity would they ever be exposed toWhatever she touched became goldenBut if you asked her who she really was, she would say, " I'm a Teacher"Andrea began teaching at age six. Lining up her teddy bears she instructed them emulating her teacher dad.In South Windsor she was Mrs. B and more often Ma. Ma was an appropriate appellation, since she never called them students; they were always her children. Teaching was who she was, not what she did. Her room at Eli Terry was home, the children, family, the Borrelli bunch. Far more than instructing her brood Andrea taught them about life and living, how to be good people. Changing lives while she taught content, her goal to see that each child reached their best version of themselves. She wanted every child to believe in themselves, to know they were lovable and capable. She tethered each child in their journey knowing when to cut the cord so they could change from kites to birds. Reflecting upon her life, the fact becomes very evident that she did this for all of us. In the end we were all her children.
Andrea never wanted to put people out; she requested a private showing for family. She would never ask but I know she would appreciate both your saying a prayer and sharing her memories. If you have a minute tell a story about her so we can keep her with us a while longer..There is a statue dedicated to her in front of the South Windsor Public Library; if you care to visit I'm sure she would enjoy it.
Many times she spoke about how much she appreciated all the kindness, love and caring she received from you, her children, friends, parents and family. So I pass her gratitude along to you, Thank You !Special Kudos go to Linda who gave her years of caring, loving and true Sisterhood.
I guess this leaves us with the score being: Heaven-1 Us-0
Lastly, I leave you with a poem that she inspired, a mantra depicting what I think she would want you to know.
LAST WORDS
Shed a tear if you will, To show you care that I've passedKnow that I've climbed the hill, My life was not meant to lastThe love we shared the help we gave, Travails that tested our charityWill not be buried in our mortal grave, Live on to define our humanityI see a light glowing gold, A world of clouds beneath my feetNo one here is young or old, No sign of Avenue or StreetNo need to mourn for me, I'm Home where I'm meant to be
