Allan F. Bunce Jr

Allan F. Bunce Jr., 64, of Manchester, beloved husband of 33 years to Janice H. (Gray) Bunce peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 surrounded by his family. Allan was born on March 9, 1950 in Manchester son of the late Allan F. and Laura (Lautenbach) Bunce. He was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and had been a lifelong resident. Allan was employed as a Chef at several different restaurants in the area and most recently at the Corner Pug Restaurant in West Hartford. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with and cooking for his family. In addition to his wife Janice, he is survived by Janice's children; Frank Door and his wife, Gail of Buxton, ME, Eric Bocchino of Groton and Jodi Abele and her husband, Michael of Storrs, eight grandchildren: Justin, Amanda, Jen, Michelle, Jennifer, Cynthia, Tony and Mackenzie, his four siblings; Gary Bunce, Sandra Nielsen, Patty Bunce and Michael Bunce and his wife, Kristen and several nieces and nephews. Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester from 1:30- 3:30 pm with a service to begin at 3:30 pm. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hartford Hospital Fund Development, 80 Seymour St., PO Box 5037, Hartford, CT 06101-9960 for the benefit of the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center.
