Alice (Kelly) Gorman, 81 of Manchester, beloved wife of Albert J. Gorman, passed away on June 12 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford.
Born on March 28, 1936 to the late William and Anna Binock Kelly, she was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Alice was known for her generosity, lively spirit, sense of humor, and love for animals, especially her three cats. She brought joy and laughter to many people, including her customers at Stop and Shop in Manchester, where she worked for twenty years.
She is survived by four children, Albert (Jeffrey) Gorman, Kathleen Faria and her partner Brian Chmielewski, John Gorman, and Scott Gorman and his wife Kim, all of Manchester. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Laurie, Eric, John, Jason, Nicolas, Eric, Aaron, Kelly, and Christian; step-grandsons Joshua and Stephen; great-grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, Juliana, and Alexander; step-great-grandson Marc; sisters Mrs. Marion Brewer of Colchester and Ms. Donna Kelly of Manchester; and brother William Kelly of Glastonbury. Alice was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Arlene Brighenti, and twin brother Richard Kelly.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 19 at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St., Manchester. A graveside service will be Tuesday, June 20 at 11:30 a.m. in East Cemetery, 240 East Center Street, Manchester. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
