Aldred W. 'Augie' Davis

Aldred Wallace "Augie" Davis, age 86 of Loudon, TN, formerly of Manchester, CT, loving husband for 62 years of Shirley (Speed) Davis, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
Augie was a 1948 graduate of Manchester High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict for which he received a Bronze Star and was a two time Purple Heart recipient. Following his time in the military, Mr. Davis retired after 38 years from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Company where he was an engineer. He was a longtime and active member of South United Methodist Church in Manchester.
Besides his wife Shirley he is survived by a son and daughter in-law, William and Mary Davis, all of Loudon, TN; grandchildren, William Davis, Jr. and wife, Nikki of SC; Raymond Hite of CT; Sara Beth and husband, Marcus Mader of FL; Amy Renie and husband, Chris Underwood of TN; Jessica and husband, Matthew Leroux of CT; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Thelma DeMars of PA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Leslie Davis and Laura (Eastman) Davis; daughter, Elizabeth Louise Hite; brothers Marshall, Russell, Gordon and Calvin Davis; sister, Dorothy Nowak.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, at 11:30 AM at South United Methodist Church, 1226 Main Street, Manchester. Burial with military honors will follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester. The family will receive friends, 10:30 - 11:30 AM, Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
