Agnes B. "Aggie" (Poharski) Majewski, 91, of Manchester, wife of the late Stanley W. Majewski Jr. passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 surrounded by her family. Agnes was born on January 31, 1924 in Manchester daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Sobieski) Poharski. She was raised in the North End of Manchester, attended Manchester schools and she was a lifelong resident. Agnes worked at Pioneer Parachute as a parachute seamstress during WW II where she added the flares for the war. She was a stay at home mom and according to her family, "the best cook in the land". Agnes loved listening to her Polish music. She would sit for hours tapping her toes and singing along. Agnes' family and friends will tell you she had a song for every occasion and every event. You could say to her, I bought a pair of red shoes, and she would sing you a song. She enjoyed watching the Uconn women's basketball. Years have passed but when her grandsons were in school and it was high school football season, she was at every football game to watch her grandsons play. Her grandchildren where the light of her life and she kept all of them close to her heart. A day would not go by she did not tell you she had 6 great grandchildren and 7 grandchildren, always followed by "can you bleechdat". She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Linda Majewski of Manchester, her two daughters; Sharon Palenza of Manchester with whom she made her home and Mary Jo Majewski of Columbia, her seven grandchildren; Sheera, Joey, Paul Jr., Brian Jr., Natalie, Amy and Michael, and six great-grandchildren; Nicholas, Amaris, Cecelia, Liliana, Mariah and Ingrid. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews. Agnes was predeceased by a daughter, Marjorie Majewski Ficaro, a sister, Sophie Bajoris and her three brothers, Frank, Henry and Joseph Poharski. A private graveside service will be held in St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
