Stanley W. “Stan” Talaga, 71, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his home. He was born December 10, 1947, in Germany, son of the late Jan and Janina “Jenny” Talaga. Stan was a proud veteran of the US Army serving his country during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he worked as a carpenter for over 35 years for Talaga Associates until his retirement. In retirement he was always busy with new projects. Stan was a gentle soul who got along with everyone. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Bridget Church in Manchester. Stan is survived by his 4 brothers; Bud Talaga and his wife Mary, Walter Talaga, Butch Talaga and his wife Jodi, and Todd Talaga; his sister Sophie Talaga; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and their families. He will be greatly missed by all. Calling hours will be held at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday January 28, 2019 at 11 am at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester. Everyone is asked to please go directly to church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester.
