James (Jim) Bemis Tuttle, Sr. of Vernon, CT passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at the age of 89. He was born on January 5, 1930 in Manchester, CT son of the late Louis J. Tuttle and Grace (Parkes) Tuttle. James was raised in Manchester, attended local schools, and graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1948. James was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War on the USS ELLYSON. He was employed for over 35 years at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as an Electrical Foreman. Upon retirement he spent his time in Vermont, Florida, and travelling with his wife Dolores. James was a member of the Manchester Masonic Lodge No. 73, and the Sphinx Temple of Hartford, A.A.O.N.M.S. James is survived by his daughters and their families, Mary-Lynn Hanley and husband James of Attleboro, MA, their children Alexandra Pielech and her husband Brad and their children Abigail and Benjamin Pielech, Timothy Hanley and his wife Bobby; Christie Donofrio and husband Edward of South Windsor, CT and their children Ashley Wilson and her daughter Aubrey Niemczyk, Matthew Wilson and his wife Katelyn, Caitlin Wilson and her daughter Olivia Wilson, and Adam Wilson. James is also survived by his grandchildren and their families Nicole Tuttle and her son Cole, Dan Hills and his wife Christina Bennett-Hills and their children Scarlett Hills and MJ Thompson, Shane Tuttle, Ryan Tuttle, Riley Tuttle, Christina Tuttle and her children Johan and Naomi Medina and his favorite daughter-in-law Susan Tuttle. In addition to his parents James was predeceased by his wives Dolores L. Tuttle, Naomi J. Tuttle, his sons James B. Tuttle Jr, Glenn A. Tuttle and his brothers Albert J. Tuttle, Louis E. Tuttle, Burton J. Tuttle, Gordon O. Tuttle, and Roger D. Winton. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester followed by burial at Valley Falls Cemetery Vernon, CT.
