Irma M. (Hidalgo) Alegre, 94, of East Hartford, wife to the late David Alegre, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 1, 2018. Irma was born in Cabana, Ancash, Peru, on January 15, 1924, to the late Celemires Hidalgo Ruiz and Maria Reyes Montoya.
Irma was a very kind, gentle individual who was always looking to lend a helping hand in any way that she could. She was a very dedicated person, which made her stand out as such an honest relative and friend. Her family was very important to her. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and she would honor any chance that she could get to spend time with them. She will be missed greatly.
Irma was pre-deceased by her son David, and is survived by her four children, daughters Elena and Irma Alegre, and sons Raul and Jose Alegre, daughter In-law Angela Alegre; six grandchildren, Karen and her husband Alberonio, Carol, Melina, Christian, David, and Joseph, and four great-grandchildren, Jalise, Stephanie, Cassandra, and Alexander.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. at North American Martyrs Parish, St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to church. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
