Helen R. (Moran) King, 102, died peacefully on January 2, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 19, 1916, in Holyoke, MA, the daughter of the late Charles E. & Mary Theresa Moran. She grew up in Holyoke and later made her home in Manchester, CT, with her late husband Douglas King.

She leaves behind her five children, Carol King, Charles King and his wife Marie, Kathleen Reich and her husband Al, Mary Ellen Kaplan and Barbara McCooe. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren

Helen, was predeceased by her husband Douglas King, her siblings, James Moran, Rita Moran, Charles Moran, Mae O’Connell and her son-in-law Marty Kaplan

Helen was a long-time communicant of St. James Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She owned and operated Pero Fruit Stand with her husband Douglas for many years. She loved trips to the casino to play the slots and playing poker with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her daily glass of port wine right up until her final days. She was a wonderful story teller and had a great sense of humor. Helen lived a long, happy and full life and we are sure she is at the poker table watching over us and smiling.
