Elaine (Kidd) O’Leary, 66, of Tolland, CT was taken from us prematurely on December 22, 2018 as a consequence of an unfortunate automobile accident. She was born February 26, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Elaine cared deeply for others and worked for many years as an occupational therapist. Earlier in her life, Elaine lived for a period of time in Australia…giving birth to son (Tim) while there. She loved travelling and had recently returned from an amazing Alaskan cruise. She finally settled in Connecticut, spending the last decades of her life there. Never one to sit idle, Elaine enjoyed a variety of crafts and generously shared her artistic talents with those she loved. She so enjoyed her knitting that, on one occasion, she told a close friend that she’d like to be buried with knitting needles and yarn.
Elaine is survived by a sister, Darlene and (Dale) Weber, and a brother, Glennon and (Eileen) Kidd. She is also survived by three children… Jen, Tim and Kate…as well as four grandchildren. Elaine cherished her children in her heart and celebrated them by means of a variety of remembrances throughout her home. She also leaves behind her beloved partner, Bill Bradford, with whom she had shared a loving relationship for 14 years and with whom she had been planning to sail through the Panama Canal next month. Her prize-winning dog, Bentley, upon whom she showered affection, will miss her greatly. She will be remembered fondly and lovingly by all those close to her…most especially her godson Aaron Kay, whom she adored.
The family will receive friends and relatives, Friday, January 4, 2019 at 6:00pm with a Funeral service to follow at 7:00pm, at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, CT. To leave a message of condolence and to sign the online guestbook, please visit www.holmeswatkins.com
