Alton Leslie Wilcox of Manchester, was born in Colchester, CT 2-1-1917 and died Tuesday November 13 at the age of 101. He was the son of the late Edward Leslie Wilcox and Lenora Minetta Huntington Wilcox. Alton attended Vinyl Regional Technical School in Middletown, CT and served in WWII as part of the 460th Quartermaster Company in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a precision machinist for Sikorsky and Pratt and Whitney Aircraft before working for the Hartford Special Machinery Company until his retirement in 1982. Alton is predeceased by his wife Benedykta Olubowics Wilcox and his 8 brothers and sisters Doris, Marjorie, Bernice, Elliot, Raymond, Barbara, Lois and Janet. He leaves his daughter Connie Supple Bearden and her husband Grant of Middletown, his son Steven Wilcox and his wife Carol of Vero Beach, Florida as well as grandchildren Suzanne Perry of California,, Allison and Richard Quirion of Massachusetts Jill and Jamie Palma of Portland, Jeffrey and Stefani Wilcox of Florida and Douglas Wilcox of Massachusetts as well as 7 great grandchildren: Ryan and William Perry of California, Luke and Jack Quirion of Massachusetts, Sophia and Claire Palma of Portland and Katelyn Wilcox of Florida. He is also survived by his loving caregiver Tina. A time of visitation will be held at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 9:30am-11:00am followed by a service at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be private in Lakeview Cemetery, East Hampton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
